Goods train derails near Attock

ATTOCK, March 22: A goods train derailed near Attock on Wednesday, causing suspension of rail traffic between on Attock-Kundian section for about six hours. Sources told this reporter that two bogies of a Rawalpindi- bound goods train coming from Kundian derailed between Chhab and Uchri railway stations about 135 kilometres from Attock.

After the incident, railway authorities dispatched a relief train to the site.

Controller, rail traffic, Divisional Headquarters Peshawar, when contacted, confirmed that the derailment had occurred at 7:30am. However, rail traffic was restored after five-hour rescue operation at around 12:30pm.

He said only 130-down Bilal Express was delayed for about 40 minutes due to the derailment.
