Lahore selects 45 probables

LAHORE, March 15: Forty-five probables have initially been picked to form two Lahore region teams for the national hockey championship’s regional round to be held in Islamabad from March 18.

Over 700 probables appeared in trials at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

The 45 selected probables will undergo final selection at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday after which 36 players will be finalised for the two teams.

Probables:

Goalkeepers: Shakir Munir, Waqas Liaqat, Asad Javed, Qaiser Rasheed.

Full-backs: Shahzad Aslam, Sher Zaman, Ibrar Hussain, Athar Hanif, Akhtar Rasool, Farhan Akram, Adeel Khalid, Khawaja Farhan Sami, Rashid.

Half-backs: Mohammad Abbas, Sultan Ashraf, Sajjad Anwar, Rizwanul Haq, Abbas, Ijaz Ahmad, Qamar Islam, Faheem, Iftikhar, Shakil, Mohammad Shahbaz Majeed, Ajmal.

Forwards: Hasan Akhtar, Abdur Rahman, Mohammad Abbas, Asif Hashmi, Arshad Ali, Salman, Imran Malik,Zulifqar, Shafqat Rasool, Qayyum Dogar, Asghar, Abdul Khaliq, Zaman, Shakil, Ramiz Chishti, Waqas Mubarik, Sajid Hussain, Mansoor Anwar, Waqar Ahmed, Ahmad Aftab.
