KARACHI: Blast victim’s daughter turns year old

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 3: Friday marked the first birthday of Tuba, the only daughter of Iftikhar Ahmed, the US consulate’s driver killed in the suicide attack on Thursday. US diplomat David Foy, Rangers Lance Naik Zafar, Iftikhar Ahmed and the unidentified suicide bomber were killed in the blast.

He was buried in the Qayyumabad graveyard after his body was handed over to the family by US consulate officials.

Iftikhar Ahmed, 35, had been working at the consulate for the last five years. His brother Shakil Ahmed told Dawn that the US consul-general visited their home and condoled with them. Since the body was dismembered, it was not shown to family members and only one of the brothers handled it till the burial.
