Port Qasim

KARACHI, March 3: Two ships with chemicals and containers were allotted berths at Marginal Wharf and QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven vessels were busy in loading and offloading containers and MEG, wheat, seeds, diesel oil, iron ore and containers.

A cargo volume of 88,047 tons comprising 59,215 tons of import and 28,832 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only Kingston left the port while Yanaseni, Ibn Sina and Elka Vassiliki were due to depart.

Seven ships, Tai King, Multan, Banglar Mookh, Giovanni Della, Keefan, Ville Dee Mars and Difko Susanne, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
