Earthquake victims’ phone dues written off

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: The Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd (PTCL) has waived off an amount of Rs22.8million on account of various free-of-charge facilities and telephone billing charges to customers in the earthquake-hit areas from September to November last year.

Following the directives of President Gen Pervez Musharraf, PTCL has waived off the amount to Hazara, Islamabad and Rawalpindi telecom regions to give relief to customers who are in the phase of rehabilitation.

An official announcement issued here on Friday stated that after the October 8 earthquake, PTCL worked on an emergency basis from October 10 to 21 in order to provide relief to the affected people.
