KARACHI, Feb 16: Berthing activity at the wharves on Thursday was maintained on the higher side where a dozen ships were berthed to unload general cargo, soyabean meal and cars, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying chemicals and to load fish are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday.

The ships, which were berthed included Kota Wangsa, Hyundai Advance, Kota Teraju and Y.M. Energy to unload and load containers, Kimon-A to load rice, Badulu Valley to offload soyabean meal, Dubai Fortune, to unload coal, Bolan, Magway and Great Dream to unload and load general cargo and Venture Ace to offload cars.

Sailing was also active as eight ships, MOL Accord, Iran Baabaei, Corin Thaikos, APL Cairo, Kuo Hung, San Jiang Kou, Marina-G.R. and Bow de Feng departed, while Magway, Klapenborg, Anarita, Y.M.Energy, Golden Express, Hannibal-11, Great Dream and Kota Teraju are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 0.112m tons comprising 31,509 tons of export cargo including 1,807 tons of rice and 80,606 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Al-Marwah, with chemicals, Harima-2, to load fish, Iran Eghbal, with steel cargo and Iron Butterfly, with project cargo.
