NWFPWHA to be formed

PESHAWAR, Feb 14: The formation of NWFP Women’s Hockey Association (NWFPWHA) would be announced by the end of this month, said a press release of NWFP Hockey Association on Tuesday.

The formation of women’s body is in fulfilment of the instructions of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

A separate directorate of sports for women had already been created and the sportswomen were encouraged to take part in different games, including hockey.

The PHF women’s wing had extended full cooperation for the establishment of a women’s body in the province.

Meanwhile, The NWFPHA has announced the names of office-bearers of the Mardan Hockey Association.

Office-bearers: Hazrat Nawaz (president); Khursheed Khan (secretary); Hamayun Khan (sr vice-president); Mohammad Israr, Saleem Akhtar (vice- presidents); Mohammad Bashir, Sher Wali and Malook Khan (associat secretaries); and Tajuddin (finance secretary).
