Govt urged to build dams

By Our Staff Correspondent

FAISALABAD, Feb 3: The Lyallpur Town Administration on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution demanding the government to immediately start construction of Kalabagh dam and other reservoirs.

The session, presided over by naib nazim Nadeem Aftab Sindhu, was attended by all its members.

Town nazim Rana Zahid Mahmood tabled the resolution which said water resources were decreasing with every passing day creating innumerable problems for the growers.

If measures were not taken on war footing to build big reservoirs, the country would face acute shortage of water for irrigation purposes.

Mr Sindhu presented the resolution before the house for discussion. The members spoke in favour of Kalabagh dam and adopted the resolution unanimously.
