Published January 26, 2006

PESHAWAR, Jan 25: Khan Abdul Wali Khan’s condition remained critical for the second day on Wednesday. The veteran politician was shifted to Peshawar from his hometown Wali Bagh in Charsadda on Monday after he had suffered a stroke. His blood pressure, sugar level and breathlessness were under control on Wednesday but the overall condition remained serious.

The 88-year-old nationalist leader was on oxygen in the house of his daughter Dr Gulalai, where visitors were not allowed. The doctors treating him include his son-in-law Dr Jehanzeb Khan.
