LAHORE, Jan 3: Banned Test speedster Shabbir Ahmed will work with ex-Pakistan paceman Sarfraz Nawaz from Thursday for a period of two weeks in Rawalpindi to overcome flaws in his ‘suspect’ bowling action.

Sarfraz, who on Monday was appointed by PCB to rectify Shabbir’s action, met PCB director cricket operations Saleem Altaf and requested for an umpire, a physio, an analyst, video footage of Shabbir’s illegal bowling action and the detailed report of the ICC’s decision suspending the bowler for one-year.

Shabbir was banned last month by the ICC after his bowling action was declared suspect by field umpires during the first Test against England in Multan, for the second time in 12 months. Earlier, he was called during the tour of West Indies in May/June this year.

Shabbir has submitted an appeal to the ICC to review the decision. The ICC has invited the bowler to defend his case in Dubai on Jan 19.
