Published January 4, 2006

KARACHI, Jan 3: An oil tanker carrying thousands of litres of motor oil overturned on the main National Highway near the Cattle Colony here on Tuesday due to over-speeding, causing a long traffic jam on the highway for more than three hours.

The oil spilled on the highway as a result several motorcycles slipped and fell on the road, causing injuries to their riders.

Long queues of goods trucks, trailers and public and private vehicles was seen on the highway before the mess was cleared by traffic police, who removed the oil tanker with the help of a crane and spread sand on the road to make it motorable again.—-PPI
