NTC to consider proposal

ISLAMABAD, Dec 28: The National Tariff Commission (NTC) is considering a proposal to increase customs duty from 10 per cent to 25 per cent on import of Cefixime — a pharmaceutical raw material to provide tariff protection to indigenous industry.

An official announcement on Wednesday said that NTC has invited comments, suggestions and proposals from all stakeholders for revising upward the import duty on the raw material.

The NTC will hold a public hearing on January 21, 2006 in Islamabad for considering the increase in import duty.
