Faraz and Sajid restrict HEC

LAHORE, Dec 14: Faraz Ahmed Khan and Sajid Aziz, sharing nine wickets to restrict Railways to 267 in first innings against Higher Education Commission (HEC) in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II at LCCA ground on Wednesday. Faraz finished with five for 55 while Sajid four for 68 as Railways were all out in 83 overs.

Ahmed Butt (87) and Afzal Shah (45) contributed solid knocks.

Five wickets for 51 runs by off-spinner Haris Ayaz enabled Sui Southern Gas skittle out Pakistan Air Force 207 in first innings at Railways Stadium.

From the airmen opener Nadeem Farooqi (45) was the top scorer. By close of play, Sui Southern were 108 for no loss in 39 overs with Asif Zakir batting 57 and Ashraf Ali 48.

Summarised scores.

RAILWAYS 1st innings 267 for all, 83 overs (Ahmed Butt 87; Faraz Ahmed Khan 5-55, Sajid Aziz 4-68).

PAF 207 for all, 47.1 overs (Nadeem Farooqi 45, Jan-e-Alam 37, Rashid Butt 36, Shakeel Sharif 34; Haris Ayaz 5-51, Rajesh Ramesh 5-50).

SSGC 108 for no loss (Asif Zakir batting 57, Ashraf Ali batting 48.
