HYDERABAD, Dec 12: The University of Sindh awarded 376 degrees and gold and silver medals to graduates at its convocation held at the Allama I. I. Kazi campus, Jamshoro, on Monday.

Vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui conferred degrees upon recipients and decorated them with chancellor and vice-chancellor’s (gold and silver) medals.

The degrees awarded totalled 376, including PhD, MPhil, bachelors and masters in natural sciences, pharmacy, commerce and business administration, education, social sciences, arts, law and Islamic studies.

About 1,000 guests including 600 students and their parents, prominent educationists and scholars, professors emeritus of the university, members of senate, syndicate and academic council attended the academic convocation.

Some 24 candidates received PhD and MPhil degrees in various disciplines, fifteen meritorious candidates who secured top score in various disciplines of faculty were decorated with gold medals and thirteen top faculty candidates of various disciplines also received chancellor (gold) medals.

A total of 72 candidates in bachelors and masters disciplines received vice-chancellor’s (silver) medals in various disciplines.
