Rangers accused of beating man

GILGIT, Dec 6: Rangers personnel are reported to have beaten up a person on Monday at the airport road here when he refused to carry firewood for them to their camp. One Altaf Hussain said he was returning home from his duty from Jutial in public transport when the rangers officials asked passengers to disembark and carry firewood to their camp.

He said that being civilians he, and other passengers of the van refused to do the job. He said the official separated him from other passengers and started beating him, adding that he received multiple injuries.
