Shiraz, Feroze put team in final

LAHORE, Nov 24: Two goals each by Shiraz Qureshi and Feroze Gulzar helped Sea Gold enter the final of the Morning Dew Polo Cup beating Guard Rice 5-3 on Thursday.

The winners led 3-1 in the first chukker. Shiraz, Feroze and Omer Asjad Malhi scored a goal each for them. For the losers, Taimur Ali Malik struck a goal.

Taimur also reduced the margin 3-2 by scoring the solitary goal of the second chukker.

Feroze scored his second goal in the third chukker as the winners increased the lead to 4-2.

The fourth chukker saw both the teams score a goal each. Shiraz banged home his second goal for the winners while Umar Sadik reduced the margin.

Three subsidiary semifinals, of two chukkers were also played. Free Lancers beat Mixed Bag 3 1/2-2 but lost to Dew Drops 2 1/2-0. Dew Drops also beat Mixed Bag 5 1/2-0.
