LAHORE, Nov 18: A group of 25 Pakistani prisoners reached Lahore from India through Wagah border checkpost. The released Pakistanis were received at the checkpost by officials of the Interior Ministry and Punjab Rangers and their relatives.
Majority of the prisoners were those who had overstayed their visas or had inadvertently crossed into the Indian side along the Punjab border. Some of them had been incarcerated in Indian jails for the past 14 years.
Officials said the prisoners would be debriefed by authorities before being allowed to join their families.
