BALAKOT, Nov 6: President Gen Pervez Musharraf and the First Lady met on Eidul Fitr a newly-wed couple in the earthquake-wrecked town, whose marriage a few days back had kindled hopes for the future among the local people.

The president presented gifts to them and Sehba Musharraf a set of gold ornaments to the bride as they expressed the entire nation’s support for people affected by the massive October 8 earthquake that killed more than 73,000 people.
