LAHORE, Oct 16: Three people were killed when a building collapsed on the Railway Road in Gowalmandi on Sunday. Police said Mrs Farhat Javed had rented out the third floor of her house to Javed.

On Sunday, some repair work on the third floor was going on when it collapsed. As a result, the whole building crumbled. A labourer, Ehsanullah, 28, besides Mrs Javed, 45, and her daughter Mariam, 16, were buried. Residents of the area, police and civic agencies retrieved them from the debris. They were shifted to the Mayo Hospital where two of them were announced dead while the third one died after first aid.—Staff Reporter
