LAHORE, Oct 3: The Pakistan Cricket Board’s instructions were violated by its own Women Wing during the recently concluded home series between Pakistan Senior women’s team and touring Indian Under-21 women’s team.
Pakistan lost all four matches and one of the reasons for the pathetic performance of the home side might be that the Women’s Wing did not appoint coach Saood Khan, recommended by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the series.
However, the secretary of the Women’s Wing, Shamsha Hashmi who was also the captain did not accept the appointment of the PCB and hired the services of coach Tariq Siddiqi.
When contacted, PCB director cricket operations Salim Altaf said that the matter was in his notice and he had issued strict instructions to Javed Zaman, who appointed Saood Khan as coach, to give him a detailed report with strict instructions to avoid such incidents in future.
Meanwhile, Salim Altaf left for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) conference in which Asian Test championship and future programme of the Asian cricket countries main points of the agenda.
