18 PPFL matches under floodlights

LAHORE, Oct 3: Eighteen matches of the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) will be played under the newly installed floodlights at the Army Sports Complex, Rawalpindi during the month of Ramazanul Mubarak.

A Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) spokesman said that the decision was taken to continue uninterrupted league matches.

The matches under floodlights will start on Oct 5 with the first between National Bank of Pakistan, who are at the fourth position on points table and Navy, who are at the bottom in 12-team contest.

Irfan Niazi will act as match commissioner.

Referee inspector, is former international player Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad while Referee Panel comprises Jehangir Khan (Quetta), Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah (Peshawar), Khalid Khan (Bahawalpur), Muhammad Saleem (Peshawar) Dr. Ibrahim (Islamabad), Muhammad Sharif (Islamabad), Shaffat Habib (Army) Chaman (Islamabad) and M. Ibrar (Army).

On Tuesday, KRL will take on PWD at KRL Stadium while PTCL with HBL at Municipal Stadium, Rawalpindi. Schedule: Oct 5: Navy Vs NBP.

Oct 6: KRL Vs PTCL.

Oct 7: Navy Vs PWD, Army Vs NBP.

Oct 8: KRL Vs Panthers Club.

Oct 9: PTCL Vs Wohaib Club, Navy v WAPDA.

Oct 10: Army Vs Panther Club.

Oct 11: PTCL Vs KRL.

Oct 12: Navy vs Panther Club, Army VS Wohaib Club;

Oct 13:PTCL Vs WAPDA, KRL Vs NBP.

Oct 14: Navy Vs Wohaib Club;

Oct 15: PTCL Vs Panther Club; Oct 16: Army Vs KRL;

Oct 17. Navy vs PTCL;

Lala rescues KPT

Lal Baksh Lala hammered last-gasp goal to help Karachi Port Trust (KPT) earn a draw 1-1 against Navy on Monday at Naval Complex in the Pakistan Premier Soccer League, PPI adds from Islamabad.

The seamen are placed at 11th position in the table with twelve points having only three wins in 16 matches while KPT finished their quota of 22 matches with 24 points.

They won six matches and lost 10.

Nomi Martin put Navy ahead 52nd minute after goalless first half.

With time running out it was left to Lal Baksh who scored an equalizer in injury time.

Tuesday fixture: KRL v PWD at KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi 4pm PTCL v HBL at Municipal Stadium, Rawalpindi 4pm WAPDA v Afghan Club at Model Town, Lahore at 3.45pm.
