KARACHI: Two teams to probe restaurant blasts

KARACHI, Sept 9: The police have registered two cases against unknown suspects in connection with the late Thursday night blasts in two foreign fast food chain outlets in the DHA area.

Two teams of investigation and the CID have been constituted to investigate the blasts.

Eleven persons suffered minor injuries when an explosive device went off inside a fast food restaurant located on the 24th Commercial Street, Phase V, DHA.

According to the police, a blast occurred at the KFC restaurant at 12.35am. Just 10 minutes later, a similar device went off in the open area of another restaurant, McDonald’s, located at Sea View.

Police said that locally improvised explosive devices of low intensity were used in both incidents.
