KARACHI, Sept 7: A young woman and her brother–in-law were killed and two others were wounded when unknown gunmen barged into their house and sprayed them with bullets early on Wednesday morning in Sohrab Goth.

According to police, seven armed men entered the house of Gul Muhammad, owner of a cattle pen in Faqira Goth off Super Highway, around 3 am. They opened fire at his son’s wife, Shabana, 23, mother of two children. While trying to save Shabana, her brother-in-law Tauqir also suffered bullet wounds.

Police said that the house owner’s wife Bashiran, and a guest from Jacobabad, Zulfiqar, who was staying at the house were also injured in the firing. The assailants made their escape following the incident.

Shabana’s husband was away in Jacobabad in connection with some work at the time of the incident.

Police said that the armed men did not take away any valuables from the house suggesting that the killing was result of some personal enmity. Police said that the family had shifted from Jacobabad last year. An FIR against unknown suspects had been lodged, police added.
