MIANWALI, Sept 3: Teachers of the local Government High School for Boys have demanded quashment of a fabricated FIR lodged against their headmaster Abdul Rashid.
This demand was made by the teachers association and the union at an emergent meeting held here on Saturday.
In their unanimous resolution, the teachers also demanded the possession of the hostel building occupied illegally by one Samiullah Shah on the pretext of launching a social welfare project there.
They said that students were forced to live in the rented building. They claimed that when the school administration tried to get back the building, Samiullah Shah implicated the headmaster in a false case. The teachers threatened to close all the educational institutions, if the FIR was not withdrawn.
Later, a teachers delegation led by District Headmasters Association president Sher Abbas Khan and senior headmaster Muhammad Ashraf Malik of the Government MC High School met DCO Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry.
The DCO assured the teachers that inquiry of the case would be conducted on merit and that he would not allow the ‘land mafia’ to occupy government buildings.
