NAIROBI, Sept 3: Chairman Pakistan International Airlines Tariq Kirmani said on Saturday that addition of Nairobi on PIA network was part of the national flag carrier’s expansion plan.

He was speaking at a press conference in a local hotel after resumption of PIA operations to Nairobi on August 30 after a suspension of seven years.

“The addition …. is part of the airlines’ expansion plan, which includes two more flights to Tokyo (Japan) via Bangkok and flights to Istanbul and Glasgow during the coming winter schedule effective from October, Mr Kirmani said.

The PIA, he said, would be operating on Nairobi-Dubai-Karachi route on every Tuesday and Saturday with A-310 aircraft.

He said recently the PIA had also introduced flights to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
