KARACHI: Woman killed by husband

KARACHI, Aug 7: A woman was axed to death allegedly by her husband in North Karachi on Sunday. Police said that Zubaida, 45, was killed early in the morning in Sector 1B-1, North Karachi, by her husband, Haji Nazeer, who had been accusing her of having a dubious character.

The couple had got married some 10 years back. It was Zubaida’s second marriage. She had two children from her first husband.

ATTACK: Three activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were wounded when they came under attack by unknown persons in Zaman Town.

Police said that the activists were reportedly doing election-related graffiti when fired upon. They were rushed and admitted to the JPMC.

ACCIDENT: A young man died and several others were injured when a speeding coach, Khan Coach, overturned at the Natives Jetty Bridge on Sunday.

Police identified the dead as Shahid. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
