Two robbers shot dead

FAISALABAD, Aug 5: Two unidentified robbers were killed while their accomplice managed to escape in the darkness on Thursday night after an encounter with the police near Chak 107-GB, Jaranwala.

Police received information that a gang of robbers had set-up a picket and was looting passers-by. The Jaranwala SHO hastened to the spot and challenged the outlaws who resorted to indiscriminate firing.

Few bullets hit the official vehicle and the police had to return the fire, killing two unidentified outlaws. However, their accomplice beat aretreat.

Police also recovered stolen cash, one identity card, two rifles and scores of cartridges from the robbers.—APP
