GUJRANWALA, Aug 3: Three lady teachers of a Kamoki elementary school have reportedly declined to perform duty at polling stations. In an application filed with the district returning officer, the women said that during their duty in a by-election some two years ago, a provincial minister and his supporters had allegedly snatched ballot papers from them and cast votes according to their choice, threatening them with dire consequences.
They feared that they might be humiliated as they had again been posted at the same polling stations of Kamoki. When contacted, Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shamshad Ahmad Khan said the lady teachers had allegedly filed the application at the behest of his rivals.
