KARACHI, July 17: Under a proposed plan of constructing an accident and emergency centre in place of existing Services Hospital Karachi, the medical superintendent has asked about 50 employees, residing with their families in staff quarters and flats in the hospital premises, to vacate their residences within 30 days.

A letter issued on Saturday from the office of MS stated: “All the residents of Services Hospital Karachi are hereby directed to vacate the residences within 30 days, positively. This is in connection with the directive conveyed verbally by the Secretary Health on July 15 to Medical Superintendent, Services Hospital Karachi.”

This order is addressed to 32 employees residing in staff quarters adjacent to hospital buildings. All these staff members are lower grade employees.

It is pertinent to mention here that there are some 16 more quarters and flats in the hospital premises, where doctors and nurses are residing.—PPI
