KARACHI: Bajia calls for setting up more libraries

KARACHI, July 17: Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser Fatima Surayya Bajia on Sunday underlined the need for having at least one library in each locality. She was speaking at the launching ceremony of women library’s expansion project in UC-6 of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town on Saturday.

It was not only the responsibility of government to provide these facilities, but private sector should also come forward to play its due role in this regard, she said adding that inculcating reading habits in the youth is a great service to the nation.

Bajia said that books could play a significant role in character building and showing the right direction to the new generation. “I will continue to utilize my best capabilities to nurture passion in the younger generation for reading books,” she said.

To promote the noble cause of education, a grant of 800 books was handed over to TMO Faisal Bukhari by the Citizen Library Liaison Association on behalf of Fatima Surayya Bajia and MPA Faisal Sabzwari.—APP
