KARACHI: Book bazaar at Frere Hall

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 9: A book bazaar will be held on the lawns of the 19th-century Frere Hall after a gap of one week. Sources told Dawn that the previous week the police had found themselves in receipt of a letter from the US consulate requesting that no book bazaar be held on July 4 at the Frere Hall. They added that in turn the police stopped the city government from holding the weekly book bazaar.

“But the book bazaar will be held this week. While the number of booksellers and visitors has dwindled in recent months, the book bazaar will continue to be held,” said an official of the city government.
