KARACHI: UK varsity team visits KU


KARACHI, July 6: A delegation of the University of Manchester, headed by Head of the Department of International Relations Dr Katherine A Carver, visited the University of Karachi on Wednesday. Members of the delegation also met the KU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui.

Dr Katherine offered cooperation in the disciplines of modern petroleum technology, textiles, fabrication and designing.

The VC was of the view that faculty exchange and research development programmes would help strengthen ties between both countries in the realms of education and research.

He said the students of KU could also benefit from the modern research undertaken by the industries in Manchester, as well as that of the Manchester University.

The visiting delegation also discussed education currently being pursued at the University of Karachi.

Other members of the delegation were Dr Paul N Barry, Department of Environmental Institute of Development Policy and Management, and Ms Azra Raza, the representative of Manchester University in Pakistan.—APP
