Nathiagali faces water shortage

By Our Correspondent

ABBOTTABAD, June 20: People in Nathiagali have been facing acute water shortage for several days. Tourists who have started coming to the hills with the onset of summer in the planes are facing serious problems. Local traders are losing business as the tourists are moving to other areas.

General Secretary of the Anjuman Tajiran, Nathiagali, Sardar Hukamdad, and Nathiagali Hotels Association President Sardar Jeenda Khan said they had informed the quarters concerned about the problem but nothing had been done so far.

They said a water supply scheme for the area had been completed but electricity supply to it could not be provided due to differences among the Galyat Development Authority, the Water and Power Development Authority and the public health department.

They appealed to the provincial government to take early action for resolving the problem of water shortage.
