DEHRADUN, June 20: India on Monday rejected the All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s demand for inclusion in the India-Pakistan dialogue process but said the conglomerate could give its suggestions for resolution of the Kashmir issue. “There is no question of involving the Hurriyat Conference in India-Pakistan talks,” Indian Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters here. However, he said the centre has opened its doors for Hurriyat to give its suggestions for resolution of Kashmir issue.

“Now the onus lies on Hurriyat Conference as to when they want to come forward in this regard,” he said, adding that the government was ready to hold dialogue with any group in Kashmir over the issue.

APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, who along with eight Kashmiri leaders from the Indian Held Kashmir visited Pakistan early this month, had said that the APHC should be included in the India-Pakistan dialogue process to find amicable solution to the Kashmir problem. —PPI
