KARACHI: Govt supporting terrorists, alleges Turabi

KARACHI, June 1: The president of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, Sindh chapter, and vice-president of MMA Sindh, Allama Hasan Turabi, alleged that the government was supporting “sectarian terrorists” and sensitive agencies were ignoring such activities by describing every terrorist incident as suicide attack.

Addressing a gathering of workers here on Wednesday, he said that the government-run media was continuously lying and trying to hide facts about incident of Madinatul Ilm bomb blast.

Condemning the attacks at Bari Imam, Islamabad and Madinatul Ilm, Karachi as well as the killing of Jamaat-i-Islami leader Aslam Mujahid, he said that arrest of innocent youths of Millat-i-Jafria was merely highhandedness of the administration.

“The government must not consider our silence, which is only for the sake of country’s integrity and stability, as our weakness,” he warned.

Shia council’s secretary information said that Shia community had no religious freedom in the country, which was its constitutional right.

Maulana Syed Nazir Abbas, Maulana Jaffer Subhani and Maulana Abbas Mujahidi also spoke.—PPI
