KARACHI, June 1: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has condemned the acts of terrorism and subversion resorted to following the Madinatul Ilm tragedy. “No conscience, patriotic and peaceful citizen can get involved in such acts,” he remarked while referring to the arson attacks on public and private properties, including a restaurant where many people were burnt alive.

Chairing a meeting at the Governor’s House here on Tuesday to review law and order, Dr Ibad said that all possible measures were being taken to apprehend those involved in Monday’s violent incidents and act of terrorism.

“Any force which is out to reverse the situation will be weeded out,” he declared.

He also called upon the political leadership to utilize their abilities in foiling the nefarious designs of anti-state elements who were out to cause harm to the life and property of people.

Earlier, the officials concerned briefed the governor about the situation obtaining in the city.

The meeting was attended by Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, IGP, Deputy Director General of Rangers and CCPO.—APP
