Postal ballot for by-polls

ISLAMABAD, May 14: Acting Chief Election Commission of Pakistan Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Saturday announced that government servants, members of the armed forces, holders of public offices and their wives and children who were registered as voters could exercise their right of vote through postal ballot in the upcoming provincial by-election in D. I. Khan.

The by-election will be held in constituency PF-66 on June 18, 2005. The last date for submission of applications for postal ballot to the returning officer for is May 31, 2005.

Application forms are available with all the returning officers of the constituency while their photocopies can also be used.

The commission has stated that the polling personnel and officials of law enforcing agencies who have been assigned duties at polling stations can send their applications for postal ballot latest by June 6,2005. Necessary instructions in this regard have already been issued to the returning officers, it added.
