HYDERABAD, May 3: The DCO has asked taluka nazims of the defunct Hyderabad district to submit their development schemes for inclusion in the Annual Development Programme, 2005-2006. DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed was presiding over a meeting of the Zila Mushawarti Committee at the Shahbaz Hall here on Tuesday.

He told the meeting that though Hyderabad had been divided into four districts, he had been given the charge of the DCO and the local government system of the newly-created districts. As such, he said, development and administrative works would be continued under his administration till a system for the new districts was in place.

Endorsing a demand of Tando Allahyar Taluka Nazim Abid Yousuf Bachani, the DCO said establishment of a degree college for girls in the taluka would be included in the next year budget for which land would be provided by the Taluka Municipal Administration.

He also approved proposals of Latifabad Taluka Nazim Abdul Jabbar Khan regarding repair of different roads in units 4, 5, 7 and 12 of the taluka. He approved a scheme to upgrade a health centre in Latifabad-8 and directed to prepare a feasibility report for a girls’ college in Hussainabad and maintenance and repair work of the Jinnah College.

Discussing problems of the Tando Mohammad Khan taluka, the DCO directed the EDO, works and services, for earth-filling of the ground in the premises of the Tando Mohammad Khan Taluka Hospital and reconditioning of the city’s three main roads.

He asked taluka nazims to submit their plans of roads connecting talukas and towns within their jurisdiction so that the same could be included in the ADP.

Regarding the Hala taluka, the DCO asked the TMA to submit development schemes of a high school building, a stadium, a children’s park and a playground.

He directed authorities for early implementation of a water supply scheme in the Tando Jam town and also asked the TMA to submit other development schemes.
