KARACHI, April 29: Mohammad Aqeel narrowly missed a century by four runs, but his superb knock helped Taimuria Sports defeat Fazlaur Rahman Sports by 28 runs in the KCCA Centenary Inter-club cricket tournament tie at the Mansoora ground on Thursday. Aqeel’s 96 contained 14 boundaries while Owais Ali struck nine foues in scoring 77 as Taimuria Sports made 267 in 33.3 overs.

Fazlaur Rahman Sports replied with 239 for seven despite an unbeaten 92 by Azat Shah and 80 by Fahad Ansari.

In other matches, Friends Gymkhana beat Yousuf Plaza CC by 68 runs at the New United Ground and Bright Gymkhana secured an easy 85-run win over Iqtidar Sports at the Asifabad Sports Ground.
