60pc spending by March

LAHORE, April 28: The Punjab government had utilized only 60 per cent and the district governments 49 per cent of the development funds by the end of March this year. According to the statement of accounts submitted by Punjab Accountant-General Wazir Ahmed Qureshi to the Controller General of Accounts and the Punjab Finance Department, the provincial government and the district governments utilized Rs210.753 billion out of their Rs354.71 billion budget.

The provincial government had utilized Rs130.868 billion out of its Rs223.64 billion non-development budget and Rs32.349 billion of its Rs54.239 billion development budget. The district governments had utilized Rs38.16 billion from Rs57.793 billion non-development budget and Rs9.376 billion of Rs19.32 billion uplift budget — Reporter
