KARACHI, April 28: The Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) on Thursday ridiculed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) demand of probe into the abduction and killing of the IJT activist Farhan Asif and questioned whom the MQM was asking to probe the matter when the Sindh governor and home minister belonged to their own party.

Speaking at a press conference at Al-Badr Study Centre, IJT Karachi Nazim Tahir Akbar reiterated their demand of arrest of persons involved in the killing of Farhan Asif.

“Instead of misleading masses and levelling baseless allegations against religious elements, the MQM should show some courage to order arrest of its own activists, involved in the killing of Farhan Asif” he said and informed that the APMSO activists Azmat, Shahzada Imran, Abdullah, Faraz and Inspector Shafique Papa had been nominated in the murder case.

Bitterly criticizing MQM over its allegations against the IJT and religious political parties, he said police officials were openly conceding that they were being pressurized by the provincial government not to make any progress in Farhan Asif’s murder case.

“Ask anybody, even a child and they will point out towards the MQM for terrorism, killing opponents, anarchy, street crimes and creating law and order situation in the city” he charged and demanded end of ongoing violence against the IJT.—PPI
