LARKANA, April 27: An under-trial prisoner was found dead in the lock-up of the Railway police station here on Wednesday. Sources said the prisoner, Ghulam Abbas, had been kept alone in the lock-up where he was found dead. The Civil Lines SHO, who took the body of the prisoner in the presence of a magistrate to the Chandka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, claimed that the deceased had committed suicide by hanging himself with the trouser’s elastic.

He said there was no sign of torture on the body. He said the prisoner’s relatives in Ktori had been informed.

The Railway police had arrested Mr Abbas from Bolan Mail train on April 25 and registered a case against him.
