Pool ‘A’ match rained off

Published April 27, 2005

LAHORE, April 26: Peshawar Panthers and Hyderabad Hawks were awarded one point each after their Pool ‘A’ Twenty20 Cup was abandoned because of rain on Monday night. Batting first, the Hawks scored 127 in 19.4 overs with Umar Gul picking up four for 21 in his first game after a long layoff. The Test paceman has recovered from a stress fracture of the back, a problem that put him on the sidelines after the home series against India last year.

The Panthers were at 48 without any wicket in 4.5 overs when the match had to be abandoned.
