LAHORE, April 26: Three more matches were decided in the Governor’s Gold Cup hockey tournament at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday. Three goals by Muhammad Arshad and two by Muhammad Azhar helped Army crush PTV 7-0 after leading the first half with a slim 1-0 margin.
Arshad scored in the 18th, 55th and the 57th minute. Azhar netted in the 65th and the 68th minutes. Muhammad Hasan (48th minute) and Qaiser Raza (63rd minute) also scored a goal each.
Four goals by Muhammad Farooq enabled PIA to thrash Pakistan Air Force 6-1. The winners led the first half 2-0.
Farooq scored in the 9th, 17th, 61st and the 62nd minutes. Muhammad Imran (59th minute) and Fareed Ullah (63rd) were the other scorers.
For the losing side the solitary goal was scored by Saeed in the 48th minute.
Pakistan Steel Mills trounced Punjab 10-0. Rashid Imran was the main scorer with three goals (12th, 15th and the 35th minute). Muhammad Riaz (20th, 46th), Kashif Ali (5th, 59th minute) scored two goals each. Muhammad Yasin (45th minute) Muhammad Naseer (63rd minute) and Muhammad Bilal (69th minute) were the other scorers.
