LAHORE, April 26: Karachi Dolphins have almost qualified for the triangular stage of the ABN-Amro Twenty20 Cup after defeating Peshawar Panthers by 44 runs in Pool ‘A’ fixture at the Qadhafi Stadium on Tuesday. The Dolphins, who defeated Lahore Lions in the opening tie on Tuesday, set Panthers a target of 179.

But the Panthers just fell away and were all out for 134 in 19 overs as they could not come to terms with the spin bowling of slow left-armer Fahim Ahmad (3-22) and off-spinner Haris Ayaz (3-24).

Earlier, left-handed opening batsman Agha Sabir contributed an 18-ball 40 with eight fours and one six off 18 balls as the Dolphins mustered a total of 178 for nine in 20 overs.

Right-hander Khurram Manzoor (33 off 20 balls with seven fours) helped Agha Sabir put on 77 for the opening stand. Skipper Moin Khan, who scored a brilliant century against the Lions on Monday, made only 16.
