Four houses robbed

ABBOTTABAD, April 24: Bandits robbed four houses in different localities here on Saturday and took away cash and valuables. In the first incident, a group of bandits entered the house of Dr Farah Malik on Murree Road, locked the family members in a room and demanded Rs1 million from them. They managed to get signed a cheque for Rs500,000 at gunpoint and sent one of their accomplices to the bank. After he came back with the money, they escaped.

In the other incident, the house of EDO (education) Mohammad Rehan Kashif was robbed in the thickly-populated Kunj Qadeem area as the family was away for a function.

The other two incidents occurred in the Malikpura area where houses of Syed Akhtar Shah and Mohammad Latif were burgled while the families living in these houses were away.

Two of the cases were reported from the jurisdiction of cantt police station, while two occurred in the city police station limits.

The city police station expressed ignorance of any such incident, while the cantt police started investigation after registering FIRs.
