KARACHI: Prompt action against DCET principal’s killers urged
KARACHI, April 24: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) expressed its concern over changing of the investigation officer in the murder case of Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) Principal Dr Mohammad Saleem Chaudhry and the disappearance of lone eyewitness of the case.
A meeting of the SPLA Karachi region was held here on Sunday with Professor Syed Riaz Ahsan in the chair. The meeting expressed its anger over the delay in the arrest of the killers of the DCET principal.
The meeting also expressed it concern over the manhandling of a DCET teacher Professor Waheed Bhutto and condemned the kidnapping and murder of Farhan Asif of the Jinnah Government College.
The meeting said that the educational institutions of the city were facing serious threats, while the law-enforcers and concerned officials were deliberately looking the other way.
The meeting demanded of the Sindh chief minister, chief secretary and interior minister to take a notice of the situation and arrest the culprits and take them to task.
It was decided that further strategy to cope with the situation would be chalked out in the SPLA provincial working committee’s meeting scheduled at the D J Sindh Government Science College on April 28.—PPI
