By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 23: A two-day conference on “Productive Aging in Pakistan” in its concluding session here called upon the government to formulate a comprehensive policy for the welfare of the senior citizens. According to a press release issued by the Regional Development Network, the conference discussed the problems and needs of the older persons and called for giving them a chance to become productive citizens.

The host organisations, RDN and Pakistan National Centre, had conducted studies on aging in NWFP, Balochistan and Punjab which were discussed in the two-day conference. Study could not be conducted in Sindh due to lack of funds.
