LONDON, April 21: England fast bowler Steve Harmison took a first-class hat trick for Durham against Worcestershire in the county championship on Thursday. Harmison, who struggled on England’s recent tour of South Africa by taking only nine test wickets at an average of 73.22, bowled three Worcestershire batsmen with successive deliveries at The Riverside in Chester-le-Street to complete figures of five for 61.

The 26-year-old took a hat-trick against India in a one-day international at Nottingham in September last year, taking the last three wickets of Mohammad Kaif, Lakshmipathy Balaji and Ashish Nehra.—Reuters
