ISLAMABAD, April 21: Prominent tennis coach Mahboob Khan has called for acknowledging the services of coaches who have played their part in the development of Pakistani players. Mahboob said that it was a creditable achievement by Aisamul Haq and Aqeel Khan who helped Pakistan win three gold and a bronze at the Islamic Games in Saudi Arabia.

“Indeed the tennis team should be rewarded by the government for their achievement which is all the more creditable for no other Pakistani athlete at the Games could win any medal.”

But Mahboob, a USPTR-certified coach pointed out that coaches who had done their bit in developing the skills of the players over the years should also not be forgotten.

“In Pakistan, the coaches have always remained the unsung heroes and it was time that their contributions were also acknowledged.”
